BLASTING MEDIA | STEEL GRIT

AMASTEEL® CAST STEEL GRIT

Is made by crushing fully hardened shot, screening the resulting media and tempering it to the desired hardness. Steel grit is ideal for aggressive cleaning applications and will quickly strip many types of surface contaminants from steel and other foundry metals. Because steel grit is softer than aluminum oxide and does not fracture as easily it is ideal for aircraft and aero-space applications. The angular nature of steel grit produces an etched surface on metal for superior adhesion of paint, epoxy, enamel, rubber and other coatings.

Applications:
Surface finishing; Preparing / etching a surface for coating; Removing rust or paint from surfaces (bridges, railcars, etc.); For air blasting in abrasive blast rooms; For use in mobile abrasive recycling systems Centrifugal wheel blast.
